In what is described as a single, compact package, the Soloist single-axis servo controller integrates a power supply, amplifier, and a position controller. The unit provides positioning control for brushless, dc brush, or stepping motors and delivers up to 30A of peak current. It can control up to four tasks simultaneously, as well as handle variables and manage I/O, and provides high-speed position latch inputs and advanced data logging capabilities. Other features include a digital servo loop with feed forward to track velocity and position trajectories with virtually zero error and on-board auto tuning. Additionally, the controller's human-machine interface software provides a platform for controlling the entire process via a Windows-based interface to diagnostic, development, and analysis tools.
