423-Pin Socket Provides A Home For Pentium IVs

Jan. 1, 2002

Gearing up for the proliferation of Pentium IV microprocessors, the company's latest offering consists of a 423-pin, low insertion-force PGA socket. The socket adds only 0.165" of height to the circuit-board assembly and is designed to be wave soldered to the motherboard.Socket pins are precision-machined brass alloy that eliminate the possibility of solder wicking or flux contamination. Also, each pin is outfitted with a six-finger, beryllium copper contact that allows for hand insertion of the processor. Insulator material consists of 0.093" thick glass epoxy, rated UL94V-0 and has the same temperature coefficient as the processor. For further information and price, contact MILL-MAX MFG. CORP., Oyster Bay, NY. (516) 922-6000.
