Cranking up performance bars, the Model 4207 VME/VXS board employs a Freescale MPC8641D Dual Core PowerPC AltiVec processor and a Xilinx Virtex-4 FX series FPGA. In back of that, it integrates a unique fabric-transparent crossbar switch that bridges a wealth of Gigabit serial resources, including the PowerPC and FPGA, two XMCs, dual VXS ports, dual Fibre Channel ports, and two optical serial transceivers. Native protocols support PCI Express, Serial RapidIO, Fibre Channel, and Aurora via the crossbar switch. The board also hosts up to 4 GB of DDR2 SDRAM and is compatible with any COTS PMC or XMC module. Also available are VxWorks and Linux board-support packages that provide a complete library of hardware initialization, control, and application functions. Price for the Model 4207 starts at $14,725.
