High-Current, Four-Terminal Resistors Handle Harsh Environments
A family of four-terminal, low-resistance, current-sensing resistors feature an open design that allows more heat dissipation into the ambient air and effectively lowers board temperatures. The HLD series comes in resistances ranging from 0.003 to 0.1 O, with ratings of 1, 3, and 5 W. The devices measure roughly 1 in. long by 0.25 in. wide, but can be customized to fit customer size constraints. Inductance is extremely low and tolerances down to 1% are available with temperature coefficients of resistance down to 50 ppm. The HLD series resistors are suitable for robust applications including industrial automation and controls, satellite power systems, remote communication system power control and monitoring, motor controls, and surge protection. Prices for the HLD resistors vary with resistance value, size, and tolerance, ranging from $0.75 to $2.50 each in 100-piece quantities. STACKPOLE ELECTRONICS INC., Raleigh, NC. (919) 850-9500.
