The company's new flexible, surface-mount jumpers are designed for use in pick-and-place assembly and reflow soldering processes, thereby substantially reducing manufacturing time compared to existing jumpers and connectors that require through-hole assembly and hand soldering. Available with up to 33 leads, the SMI machine-flexible jumpers offer rigidity and co-planarity to enable good electrical connection to board surfaces. After reflow soldering, they can be cut and reformed with a bend of up to 180°. The conductors are protected in a polyamide dielectric film that withstands soldering and board washing. And the exposed fingers can be coated with tin lead, bright tin, or an OSP.
