Designed for applications requiring high current, low voltage, and fast transient response times, the Apollo series of single-output, quarter-brick dc/dc converters can deliver up to 30A in ambient temperatures to 50ûC without derating. Available in base-plate and open-frame units with 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V and 3.3V outputs, the converters provide a recovery time of 100 µs at a 25-ps load step and a 0.1A/µs rate of change. At an output of 3.3V, efficiency is 90.5%. The open-frame converters have a 0.411'' profile and support 0.6'' card-pitch telecomm requirements, while the base-plate versions are said to be ideal for use in wireless base stations deployed in uncontrolled ambient environments. The Apollo series dc/dc converters use on-board heat-transfer devices that drive thermal energy away from heat-dissipating MOSFET transistors. The new power sources are priced at $59 each/1,000.
