Introduced as the most flexible PC/104 industrial data-acquisition (DAQ) module available, the PCM-ADIO integrates the key elements of a total DAQ system on a single board. These include a 32-channel, 16-bit a/d converter, four-channel, 12-bit d/a converter, 16 lines of digital I/O, and event trigger control. It also exploits a microprocessor for controlling input ranges, input configurations, conversion rates, FIFO depth, output ranges, calibration, and digital I/O settings, without the use of jumpers or potentiometers. Flexibility is achieved via a Triscend TE520 configurable system-on-chip that allows each channel to be independently configured as a single-ended or differential input, with eight different input ranges, variable conversion intervals, and allocation of the 32 KB FIFO by way of a simple command structure. Price is $765. WINSYSTEMS INC., Arlington, TX. (817) 274-7553.
