TMPM395FWXBG microcontroller
Düsseldorf, Germany: Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) has extended its range of ARM Cortex-M3 32-bit microcontrollers with a miniature device that combines high-performance processing with ultra-low-power operation, according to the company.
Working with voltages down to just 1.7 V and supplied in a 6- by 6-mm ball-grid array (BGA) package, the TMPM395FWXBG is ideal for applications ranging from battery-powered and portable devices to home appliances and consumer electronics. The ARM core, which operates at up to 20 MHz, and an optimized design ensure thrifty power consumption during operation. A range of standby modes reduces currents to as little as 1 µA (real-time clock mode) when processing isn’t required.
The microcontroller also simplifies applications with remote-control functionality by incorporating a consumer electronics control (CEC) unit and a remote-control signal pre-processor (RMC). For home appliance designs, an integrated oscillation frequency detector (OFD) facilitates hardware monitoring of the CPU clock to enable compliance with the requirements of safety standard IEC60730 (Class B).
The TMPM395FWXBG offers 128 kbytes of flash memory and 8 kbytes of RAM. On-board peripherals include a 10-bit, 12-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC); a real-time clock; a 10-channel, 16-bit timer; and a watchdog timer (WDT). An internal high-speed 10-MHz oscillator and voltage detector are also provided.
