MEN Micro’s BL50S box PC, designed for reliable storage in harsh environments, incorporates five integrated Ethernet interfaces. One of the interfaces is a Gigabit Ethernet uplink, and the other four operate as a four-port Ethernet switch with Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality. The PC also includes two hot-plug-capable HDD/SSD shuttles in a 2.4-in. housing. It can support RAID 0 for fast data transfer in applications such as audio/video in a video recorder, and RAID 1 for more data safety if used as a compact content server. The front panel has one DisplayPort with 2560 by 1600 resolution, two USB 2.0 ports, and other configurable slots for RS-232, CAN bus, or other I/O requirements. A PCI Express Mini Card slot with two SIM card slots supports GSM (2G), UMTS (3G), and LTE (4G) mobile standards; WLAN/Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 and related wireless standards; and GPS or GLONASS positioning systems. The BL50S, based on AMD’s 1.4-GHz T48N Embedded G-Series APU, further integrates 2 Gbytes of DDR3 SDRAM, one SD card, and one mSATA slot. Power consumption is 30 W, with nominal input voltage of 24 and 36 V dc.
