Alpha Data added Xilinx’s 20-nm Kintex UltraSCALE devices to its off-the-shelf board portfolio, thus enabling a new class of accelerator cards.  Early access to the Vivado Design suite has led to the ADM-PCIE-KU3, a reconfigurable, half-length, low-profile x16 PCI Express board based on the Xilinx Kintex UltraSCALE FFVA1156 ASIC-class field programmable gate array (FPGA). The board is supported by Vivado 2014.1. The ADM-PCIE-KU3 features 16 Gbytes in two independent channels of DDR3-1600 ECC memory that’s capable of 25-Gbyte/s bandwidth. Also included are dual QSFP ports that support 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet, dual SATA connections, voltage/temperature/current control and monitoring, and an air-cooled heatsink. The board measures 6.6 by 3.8 in.
