Primed for high-end premium notebook, tablet PC, and UMPC markets, the company's advanced fringe field switching (AFFS) wide viewing angle technology promises to improve transmission and internal LCD panel reflection to levels triple that of conventional panels. This will reportedly enable enhanced visibility even under bright sunlight and completely overcome the outdoor readability shortcomings of existing TFT-LCDs. Improved outdoor readability is the result of the enhanced internal reflection achieved through forming the reflection area inside the cell, an area not used in existing products. In brief, the stronger the outdoor light, the higher the internal reflection. The technology also controls both the external light and internal light coming from the backlight or color filter.
