Said to be one-fourth the size of similar units, these miniature infrared receiver modules are well suited for a wide range of remote signaling applications, such as remote control systems for audio, video, air conditioning, security, test equipment, and control systems. In a package with dimensions of 7.8 x 6.8 x 3.5 mm, the modules contain a photo detector diode, buffer amplifier, limiter, bandpass filter, demodulator, integrator, and comparator. They also include a built-in molded filter lens to protect the sensor and to filter out unwanted ambient light. Peak optical sensitivity is 940 nm with a sensing distance up to 24' and sensing angle of ±80°. Sensing frequency is centered at 38 kHz with a 3 kHz bandwidth.
