DVI Connectors Handle Higher Bandwidths

Feb. 1, 2000

Designed to make the connection between a computer and its display, the DV2 series digital visual interface (DVI) connectors provide for a higher bandwidth interface that is more capable of meeting the high-resolution requirements of larger displays. Available for both analog and digital video transmission, the connectors support transmission minimized differential signaling (TMDS) and conform to the recently established Digital Display Working Group standard. The connectors have 24 signal contacts, four coaxial contacts, and a ground blade for analog/digital signals. A digital-only version is also available with 24 signal contacts and no coax contacts.
