Supporting the high-resolution and low-power requirements for TFT LCD flat-panel displays, the DS90C2501 LVDS transmitter uses true differential transmission to reduce EMI. The device is capable of maintaining a throughput of 5.38 Gb/s and works with Intel's integrated graphics memory controller (GMCH). The transmitter receives its signals from the GMCH digital-video output port. This 12-bit, double-pumped output supports up to 162 MHz (UXGA) resolutions. In addition, the transmitter is fully compliant with open LDI specifications for digital display interfaces, as well as TIA/EIA-644 LVDS and GMCH standards. Available in a 128-lead CSP, price is $10 each/1,000. NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR, Santa Clara, CA. (408) 721-2033.
