Tooled for mobile applications, the AS3681 high-power charge pump features a power conversion efficiency up to 95% and supports fractional conversion with 1x, 1.5x, and 2x modes. The device provides an output current up to 600 mA, allowing it to drive ultra-bright Flash LEDs or power torch applications. A total of four GPIO pins interface with an internal 10-bit, 2-input a/d converter. The device also integrates 11 4-bit programmable current sinks with currents starting at 2.5 mA and extending to 37.5, 150, or 300 mA. It includes a second charge pump to generate supply voltages for different display types, i.e., TFT (±15V/5 mA) or OLED (-6V/10 mA). Additionally, a programmable dc/dc step-up converter provides up to 40V at 20 mA. Available in a 5 mm x 5 mm QFN32, price is $1.50 each/250,000. AUSTRIAMICROSYSTEMS, Raleigh, NC. (919) 676-5292.
