Abetting the transition from LVDS to DisplayPort, the CH7508 timing controller converts DisplayPort signals into mini-LVDS while the CH7509 converts DisplayPort into LVDS. The CH7508 targets display manufacturers needing to leverage their investments in mini-LVDS. It supports resolutions up to WSXGA and supports DisplayPort link rates up to 2.7 Gb/s. The CH7509 suits motherboard makers transitioning to processors with DisplayPort video outputs. Using a CH7509, the motherboards maintain compatibility with current displays that exclusively use LVDS inputs. The device supports resolutions up to WSXGA as well as link rates up to 2.7 Gb/s. Samples of the CH7059 and CH7058 are currently available with production volumes ramping in July. Available in a 64-pin QFNs, price for either is $1.80 each/10,000. CHRONTEL INC., San Jose, CA.
