Alibaba OBS Cloud

Partnering with the OBS (Olympic Broadcasting Service), Alibaba launched the OBS Cloud 3.0 for this year's Olympic Games in Paris. The platform integrates AI-driven cloud technology to enhance broadcasting capabilities, including operational scalability, improved sustainability, and real-time workflow collaboration. OBS Live Cloud is set to be the primary remote distribution method for the games, shifting from satellite-based transmission.

According to Alibaba, the OBS Live Cloud will transmit 379 video feeds, including 11 in ultra-high definition (UHD) and 100 audio feeds across 54 broadcasters. This cloud-based distribution ensures low latency, high resilience, and cost-efficiency. OBS's Content+ delivery platform is expected to produce over 11,000 hours of content for Paris 2024, a 15% increase from Tokyo 2020.

What's more, OBS Multi-Camera Replay Systems, which taps into the Alibaba Cloud, will offer frame-freeze slow-motion replays, capturing athletes' performances in detail. This technology utilizes AI-driven computing for real-time 3D rendering and will cover 14 venues, providing detailed analysis and educational tools for viewers.

The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is in full swing, showcasing the latest technologies as the world's greatest athletes compete for the gold.
