Industrial-Grade Embedded PC With Intel's Alder Lake Inside

Cincoze is addressing the needs of rugged embedded computing with the DA-1200, powered by Intel's next-gen N-Series processors.

As software drives more functionality on factory floors, the hardware that powers it all is becoming all the more important. Cincoze is checking all the boxes for industrial-grade embedded computing with its new DA-1200.

Based on Intel’s next-gen N97 embedded processor, the DA-1200 unites high performance with robustness and reliability to handle harsh conditions in smart factories. By leveraging the hybrid architecture at the heart of Intel’s Alder Lake CPU, Cincoze said it consumes a small amount of power (12 W), keeping heat dissipation to a minimum. The rugged embedded PC is designed to fit in tight spaces in industrial control and other systems on factory floors, measuring only 150- x 105- x 52.3-mm.

The DA-1200 also brings flexibility for wireless connectivity and storage. The embedded computer adds a pair of modular M.2 slots that can be equipped with wireless cards for 5G, WiFi, and GNSS. It also supports a host of different storage options, including 2.5-in. SSD, half-slim SSD, and M.2 SSD, the company said. The CPU at the heart of the hardware is supplemented with up to 16 GB of DDR5 DIMMs clocked at 4800 MHz to keep costs in check.

Cincoze said the DA-1200 inherits the ruggedness and reliability of the company’s other industrial-grade embedded computers. The new device can withstand a wide temperature range (-40°C to 70°C) and a wide voltage range (9 V to 48 V). Furthermore, it excels in tough environments, complying with the U.S. military standards for shock and vibration (MIL-STD-810H), and the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test standard for industrial systems (EN IEC 61000-6-2 and EN IEC 61000-6-4).

The new DA-1200 also features key control buttons (reset, clear CMOS, and SIM slot, among others) that are located on the front maintenance panel for easy access, and it can be mounted in several different ways—including wall-mount, side-mount, and DIN-rail—to facilitate more flexible installation.
