A new family of three-phase power supplies from Phoenix Contact come equipped with electronic circuit breakers to make sure industrial control and automation systems don't miss a beat.

The third-gen Trio Power units bring supply and protection into a single device due to the integrated eight-channel circuit breaker under the hood. Featuring up to a 40 A nominal output current, the industrial-grade power supplies save space thanks to their reduced width and the ability to be mounted directly side by side. Intelligent self-monitoring and integrated load management ensure appropriate power is delivered reliably when and where it is most needed in the system. Per Phoenix Contact, the power supplies can also run in “dynamic boost” mode to increase its current output by 150% for up to 5 seconds to start difficult loads.

Phoenix Contact said the Trio Power family is also easy to use: The push-in connection technology allows for fast installation while the devices can be rapidly deployed due to their intuitive commissioning process. On top of that, the power supplies feature smart diagnostics in the form of multicolor LEDs and a collective relay contact that can be used to signal all relevant states. The IO-Link interface facilitates detailed diagnostics and output of system parameters. The remote reset function enables the output channels to be reset using the digital input.
