Quick Poll: Are You Using 8-Bit Micros?

Aug. 28, 2024
8-bit micros may not be the darling they once were, but they're still being used today.

The 1970s was the start of the 8-bit microprocessor and microcontroller revolution. It started with the 4-bit Intel 4004, but it was really the 8-bit Intel 8080 and the Zilog Z80 that made the difference. The emergence of the 16-bit Intel 8088 and 8086 led to the PC revolution.

Though the 8-bit micros are no longer the industry's darling, they're still used today. We figured it was worth finding out what you have or are doing with 8-bit micros these days. You can leave a comment as well or check out some related articles listed after the poll.
