Integrated next to the company's Power Management Module panel boards, the Branch Circuit Monitor automatically checks the current on each of 42 branch circuits on the panel board. The monitor provides real-time current information and instantly sounds an alarm if any circuit exceeds its user-defined current limit or if the current level approaches the circuit breakers trip point.
Another feature of the unit is an infrared communication port, which allows wireless downloads of current levels and the alarm status of all branch circuits. The data can then be up loaded to spreadsheets for billing or analysis.
In addition to monitoring the power system, the monitor optimizes circuit-load density and load balancing. It will perform an instant current measurement of the circuit to determine if another device can be safely added and can also exercise load-based cost allocation for multi-tenant environments.
