Check out the technology presentations from this year's rugged computing event.
These videos were recorded at the Embedded Tech Trends (ETT) conference. They focus on FPGA technology in rugged environments and applications.
New Direct RF Technologies Boost Defense Systems
Mercury Systems' Rodger Hosking presents the Direct RF FPGA approach for digitizing wideband RF analog signals (watch video above). It eliminates complex and costly analog RF tuners and upconverters, replacing them with Direct RF ADCs and DACs that can digitize K-band RF signals at 64 Gsamples/s. It's also capable of capturing signal bandwidths up to 30 GHz.
Techway's Romanne Sailleau talks about cost-effective ways to extend FPGA technology using FMCs on PCIe boards in military and aerospace applications. She takes a look at the VITA 57 FMC standard that engineers can use to adapt FPGAs to their I/O needs (watch video above).
